Dewar Awards

Please read the terms of eligibility carefully before filling in the form. We do not accept personal nominations, or those sent in by close family members.

The candidate must be nominated by a sponsor familiar with their work who might be considered an objective source of opinion.

Dewar Arts Awards are prestigious and the competition for them is now intense. Coupled with the current financial situation, this means that the two core criteria - outstanding ability and limited financial means - will be applied with rigour by the trustees. Nominations without evidence of these criteria will not be considered.

Please include the full postal address, including post code, and an email address for the nominator and referees. If none is available please insert a@b.com. Referee reports are a crucial part of the decision process. So that we can elicit your referees’ comments speedily, please ensure that you give all the correct contact details and, particularly where work details are provided, that your referees can be reached at the address given at the time of submission.

The trustees usually meet 4 times a year. When planning your submission, please bear in mind that it can take several weeks to gather the information required before it can be considered, therefore please allow sufficient time for the decision process. Please note that all nominations are acknowledged by email to the nominator within 5 working days.
