Eligibility
Simple Criteria
To be considered for a Dewar Arts Award, an applicant must:
- Be under the age of 30
- Live or work in Scotland
- Demonstrate outstanding talent in any artform
- Be without the financial means to achieve their full potential
The Dewar Arts Awards Trustees look for candidates who have demonstrable outstanding ability and talent, strong artistic and/or creative ambition and are able to show real passion for their chosen artform, project or practice. Trustees direct their support towards those exceptional candidates who are able to demonstrate genuinely limited financial means. You must either live or work in Scotland to be considered. Your nominator’s endorsement and your references should give evidence of your exceptional skills and should support the aspirations you express for your own future development or that of your project. Trustees will also want to know how receiving a Dewar Arts Award would directly help you to achieve your artistic / creative goals.
Exclusions
We do not fund the production of CDs or DVDs. We tend not to fund film or performing arts production although, occasionally, applications for those have been considered. Overall, our emphasis is predominantly on education and professional development through institutions and courses. Applications for retrospective awards cannot be considered
How to Apply
You can read about our application process and fill in an application form at www.dewarawards.org/apply.
If you have additional support needs, the Trustees will consider receiving an Application in an alternative format. Please contact us if this is the case for you: admin@dewarawards.org.
