Jenni Fagan Shortlisted for BBC National Short Story Award

Congratulations to Awardee Jenni Fagan, whose writing talent has garnered more acclaim with an award nomination for her short story entitled 'The Waken'.

Now celebrating its 12th year, the BBC National Short Story Award is highly prestigious.

Five writers are in line for the £15,000 Award, with work that is described at “enduring, bold, humane and moving”.

The winner will be announced on Tuesday 3rd October 2017.

Saturday 2 October, 4pm: Shortlisted writers Jenni Fagan and Benjamin Markovits join judges Di Speirs, Jon McGregor and Joanna Trollope in conversation at the Small Wonder Charleston Festival. More information and bookings can be found here.

Tuesday 3 October, 7:15pm: The announcement of the BBC National Short Story Award 2017 winner will be broadcast live from the Award ceremony on BBC Radio 4’s Front Row.
